It is the season of giving and The House PDX is hoping to help support Rose Haven Day Shelter and Community Center this holiday season. “Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center serving women, children and gender non-conforming folks experiencing the trauma of abuse, loss of home and other disruptive life challenges.” They provide meals, clothing, first aid, mailing addresses, hygiene, restrooms, showers as well as educational programs and guidance through medical and social services. By meeting basic needs and building trust, Rose Haven empowers their guests to explore long-term change. They have a very informative instagram if you want to look further into this organization.
For the Month of November we are asking members of The House PDX to donate the following items to be given to Rose Haven:
- Reading glasses
- Body wipes
- Maxi pads
- Deodorant
- Blankets
- Rain ponchos
- Makeup (mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyebrow makeup, blush)
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Body wash
Antje Fimmel will be doing a drop off on Monday, November 24th to help these folks in need. If your heart feels called to this cause, there will be a drop off box in the lobby for you to put these items. Thank you so much in advance.
With gratitude,
Stacey Mastromonaco & Antje Fimmel
